Chasselas from Baden-Baden, Germany, represents a grape variety not commonly found in the United States. Its exceptional quality prompted me to capture its essence. While driving with Alan, we stumbled upon these vines by the roadside, prompting a spontaneous stop. What struck me most was the picturesque village in the background, serving as a poignant backdrop against the backdrop of European history. Amidst thoughts of centuries past and the toll of war on the land, faces seemed to emerge from the soil as I worked, prompting me to pay homage to the generations that came before.
